  It’s Treason Then

Unleashed

It was a sunny at a time that would be considered the busiest moment for any worker. Julian was not like any other worker, he was a leader. He lead a battalion of highly, well experienced soldiers; The Jagardamee. In the absence of the Emperor, and a Grandmaster, the line of command fell into the young man’s hands. He was in charge of every living soul in Wanderiech and as such, his time was scarce.

Wanderiech, the home of the Quincy, very rich in natural resources such as gold, coal, and many more to mention. The trees and plants bloomed when the spring visits, the sakura leaves dance to the wind that sings a pleasant melody to it, bringing a crimson color that paints the land and air.

Julian walked past an old building just outside the boundary into no man’s land. He wore a white kimono; his hand adorned a white glove having the symbol belonging to Wanderiech. His eyes were fixed at the map he held, a map of the No man’s land. He hunted a deserter, the rule frowned upon deserters and the penalty for breaking such a rule was death.

Long had he chased him and long had the man eluded him? He was ever so watchful, paying attention to any slightest wisp of rumor, a trace that his prey was close so he could pounce at moment’s notice. The time had arrived. He was close to him; he could almost smell his scent. Julian chased him down to an abandoned site, it used to be a workshop, old and with an obvious need for renovation. The site was shaded with the high walls that could hide part of the sunlight. His step was all that could be heard, and Julian knew he was being watched.

“Don’t be shy, come out and stop hiding like rats.” He said as he as he removed his mask. His restrained reiatsu got loose like a dam broke and a water gushing out with all intensity and force. The power of his reiatsu alone was such that, the building environment within his vicinity could feel its pressure, any lower ranked officer would find his reiatsu intent press them down with force, their breath failing them. However, after taking a deep breath, Julian suppressed his reiatsu so that only those of his level and above could feel it.

A shadow moved, followed by another shadow and then another till Julian was now completely surrounded from all sides. “You’ve getting old old-man.” A woman in a hood said in a smile that did not reach her eyes, she stepped out and walked towards Julian. “To think you would be lured here, to this trap, you have gotten sloppy captain.” Seris said with a mischievous smile of a fox that had her prey right where she wanted it. “Take him.” She ordered and walked away so her men could attack the captain. Julian brought out two seele Schneider, wielding it like a sword; he placed his weight on left leg as he whipped his blade to cut down the first man who had been foolish enough to approach him. His blade cut clean and through to the sternum of the man as his lifeless body dropped cold on the floor. Just like the first, the rest flooded at Julian as he kept slashing, cutting down men who at one time were his comrades, his subordinates, and men he had personally trained. Julian gripped one man by the neck, the tall lanky man looked at the captain in horror just as Julian’s seele Schneider stabbed him at his neck.

At this point Julian’s body was covered in blood, his face too, but they still came at him. Horrified screams vibrated in the air as the sound of flesh being cut was heard, some out of fear of facing the captain in close quarters combat resorted in releasing reishi arrows at the captain. Julian would grab one of his opponents to use as a human shield, placing the man in between him and the raining arrows part. He would side step missing the blade from an opponent attacking him from his rear, and would throw the dead body he used as a shield at the incoming foe. The cold body would slam into two opponents and Julian moved as quickly as a lightning to cut down the disoriented men. He could feel his reaction increase; he had entered a battle trance, enlightened and relishing the thrills of actually ending lives.

Seris watched as her men were being butchered, cut down like lumps of meat, had she underestimated the captain? No that was not the case, Julian was not someone you could underestimate and that fact remained true. In all the years she had known him, she had not once seen him like this, and he was smiling while cutting down the men he had once trained. “Has he always been this strong?” she said biting her lower lips. Her hope of usurping the throne from the Emperor seemed like a farfetched dream now as she could now see the reality of holding such a silly dream. When the last body dropped, she drew her blade.

Widows’ wail blurred as it struck Julian’s Seele Schneider, the power Seris brute strength created a shockwave that knocked Julian backwards causing him to lose his balance and Seris did not miss that opening as she whipped widows’ wail to cut at his neck. Julian just barely regaining his balance at the last seconds kicked his heels to pivot to the right to narrowly evade Seris sword. Seris blade shimmered in the moon as it caught the light when she raised it to her shoulder length, its point edge facing Julian and he could admire how beautiful her blade was. Perfectly balanced to suit her weight, its gold pummel casting an extra protection and an engraving at the side of the blade.

Seris employed her god step; she appeared before Julian in a flash as she thrust her blade while at the same time kicking at the captain. Julian brought his left hand with his seele Schneider, he whipped it in a diagonal arc to parry her blade upwards, and with lightning speed he would sidestep to his right and simultaneously use his right shoulder to hit her, his reaction speed had come as a surprise to her as she was knocked sideways. Her balance was lost and before she could even hope to regain it, Julian hovered to her left whipping his blade to cut off her left hand. The cut was clean and quick and before her senses could react to losing a limb, Julian kicked at her midsection to send her crashing with enough force to a wall.

“What just happened? I could not react; his reacting and attack speed is insane! His too fast and at this rate I’d die before I get the chance to fight back.” She thought. Her left hand was gone and she felt an immense pain from where her hand was once located. Taking a deep breath, her eyes changed its color to white, the clouds thundered, lightning struck at her and then she appeared in a black suit, her hair charged, she could feel her power reach its zenith, her speed increased, her sword skills also increased, her archery too increased.
