The Gotei 13, also known as the 13 Divisions are the defenders of Seireitei and the Human World. Their primary aim is to quell the Hollow threat to the Human World and secure the peaceful passing of deceased souls to either Seireitei or Jigoku.

The Great Citadel of the Arrancar, seat of power of the Espada and their followers. Once destroyed but now built-anew, it functions as the strategic staging point for Arrancar power projection into Hueco Mundo and the Human World.

The "Empire within the walls" is where the Quincy built their hidden stronghold. Slowly gathering their strength, the Quincy are poised to launch their assault on the Human World, Hueco Mundo and to exact their revenge on the hated Shinigami.
