Welcome to the Sōgō Kyūgo Tsumesho, here members of the 4th treat the sick, and wounded soldiers of the gotei 13. Before posting in here, please make sure to read the rules and fill out a patient form. Enjoy your stay
The following are the duties of the 4th.
The 4th Division is the medical/supply division. They are responsible for both treating the injured and doing most of the manual labor, such as cleaning the Seireitei. The 4th Division is further divided into teams that have specific assigned jobs. Other division members use their spiritual power only for fighting. Members of the 4th Division possess spiritual powers that are used to tend to wounds and provide relief. They use these special powers and the benefits of their daily training to act with precision and speed to aid injured comrades. 4th Division administers emergency first aid to injured division members and transports them to the General Emergency Relief Station. However being a member of the 4th doesn’t mean you aren’t able to fight. Just means we can do a little of both. 🙂
(this thread is serving as a temporary infirmary until I’m able to properly set it up.)
With his hands held firmly over his mouth and a wide-eyed, panicked stare hidden behind the red tint of his goggles, Takasugi staggered to the entrance to the infirmary. Without checking to see who he passed in the hallway, he desperately rummaged around in his robes for the copy of the Patient Form he had been given before thrusting it into the waiting hands of the first doctor unfortunate enough to come across him.
"12th Division..." he gurgled, swaying on the spot. "Monsters... Maniacs..."
Hiccuping, he veered to the left, shoulder hitting the wall with a heavy thump. "Help..."
From his office, Haruki heard a small buzzing sound indicating someone had entered the relief station. A small grin formed across his face, as he stood up from his desk. Reaching over grabbing his Haiori, which appeared to be a regular lab coat. On it we’re zigzagged stitches, and the back the standard look for a captains haiori. “Time to work.” Muttering to himself, slowly opening his office door. Much to his surprise a giant man, was before him thrusting a form into his hands. Haruki who only stood 5”4, was amazed with their difference of height. “Ahh, well if it isn’t captain of the 3rd…” Speaking with a cheerful tone, despite the man clearly needing treatment. “12th?” A heavy sigh followed, he finally glanced down at the chart. “Oh my, this should be interesting… better get you to a room, and ask more question.” Though the two men were clearly different sizes, Haruki with little effort tried catching before his shoulder could hit the wall. However, Haruki spaced out for a brief second before a heavy thud against the wall. “Oh my, I sure hope you’re ok…” Glancing at both Takasugi, and the wall. From an outsides prospective, it appeared Haruki was more worried about possible damage done to the wall. “This way please…” Extending his hand, offering to carry his fellow captain to an empty room. “Allow me to help… Takasugi…”
OOC: My apologizes if my rp is a bit ehh, posting from phone still. And haven’t rped in a while. Lol :p but I welcome any and all tips and advice to improve.
It was the first time Takasugi had met the mysterious Captain of the 4th Division, but the churning of his stomach and the spinning of the corridor stopped him from extending a hand in greeting - as it were, his hands had returned to holding the lower half of his face in an attempt to keep the contents of his stomach where they ought to be. He nodded instead, immediately regretting the motion, and rested his elbow on Haruki's shoulder to stead himself. Better he be seen as rude than lose his lunch all over the infirmary.
When we could at last speak again, his voice left him in a wobble. "Thanks Doc, app-" he hiccuped "appreciate it."
With Haruki's help, he managed to get as far as the doorway without incident... before fainting flat on his back, blocking the entrance to the room.
OOC: Don't worry about it, I'd go mad if I had to respond to posts on my mobile. We can improve together, blow the cobwebs off 🙂
Next to the captain of the 3rd, Haruki felt like a child. It was clear the man was sick, likely poisoned. “Well let’s go to room number 3, guess it fits..” He chuckled spacing out a bit, only coming back to reality upon feeling Takasugi’s elbow rest on his shoulder. “Well firstly, I should say. I’m captain of the 4th Haruki Akiyama…” muttering under his breath, but loudly enough one could hear him. This almost made him seem cowardly.
As they moved from the doorway, and only inches away from room 3. “Takasugi San” he blurted out, watching the man faint and fall. “Probably should’ve caught him…” Haruki mumbled.
“Such a giant.” Crouching over, and with ease tossing the man over his shoulder. Haruki easily carrying Takasugi over to a bed tossing him onto it like a stuffed teddy bear. might’ve been to rough. He thought. He placed his hands a few inches over Takasugi chest, and abdomen. “This is a reiastu scan…” Pulling his hands away, he reached into his lab coat pocket pulling out the chart. “I see…” setting up an IV, crushing up reiastu pills. He stuck the needle into Takasugi’s arm, setting the drip to stabilize his reiastu. “Takasugi San, what happen with the. 12th…” shaking the man in attempt to wake him.
OOC: to make sure I’m reading the chart right. It does mention that you have an unknown toxin, or is that something I’ll need to discover with another reiastu scan or test? Thanks we can do that. If you have any tips. Feel free to say them. 🙂
When Takagusi reawoke, his first thought was a jumbled mess of 'where am I' and 'what on earth is that strange antiseptic smell.' He heard questions being asked, but it took him a long moment to realise they were being directed at him. The voice cut through his haze gradually with the same slow quality as treacle, and he bit down a ripple of panic. Was he back in the 12th Division? He hadn't broken any of their rules - nobody told him he couldn't seek help from the 4th in controlling the side-effects of that damned stuff they injected into him.
But... wait. That thought alone, as hazy as it was, didn't make any sense. Why was he in the 4th?
Oh.
"Haruki-san... " he breathed, opening his eyes to see the ceiling of the room overhead. "Pardon my rudeness, I seem to have... fainted?"
OOC: I'm not even sure what's in the stuff they put in him, call it a 12th Division secret. He's not getting 'better' anytime soon so it might be better to figure out a way of managing his symptoms rather than do anything about the root cause - 12th Division are scary! :c
Haruki spaced out, reading over Takasugi’s chart. Takasugi’s apologize jolted him back to reality “No need for that, Takasugi San…” exclaimed the 4th’s captain, who had reached into his lab coat pocket pulling out a needle. “Well, I believe some blood work is necessary.” Gently grabbing the captains arm, he stuck the needle in drawing out blood. “Should do it” with a simple press of a button, one of the infirmary nurses arrived, Haruki passed over the blood sample while saying. “Run a few test on this, check for toxins, poisons, anything” he shifted his attention back to Takasugi, placing his hand 1/4 inch over the tiny needle mark.”Hisaisei“ a light green glow enveloped around his palms and fingers, in a spilt second the needle mark was gone. “Takasugi San, up for a few questions?” Pulling out a tiny notebook, which oddly enough had zigzagged stitches sewn into it, as well his pen. If anyone noticed, most items within in the building had the same pattern.
“so Takasugi San, are you feeling any pain?” Tapping the pen against his chin. “Your form says the following…. Persistent dizziness, unstable reiatsu outbursts, vomiting.“
He sighed. “I have medicine for the vomiting, and dizziness…” Haruki paused, chewing on the pen cap. “Unstable reiastu is tricky, have you come in contact with any toxins or poisons?” Doodling on the notepad, waiting for answers to his questions. “You mentioned the 12th, is there a story behind that?” Again reaching into his pocket, pulling out a packet with two pink little pills. “These are chewable, and can help with the vomiting, and dizzy spells…” holding his hand out, so Takasugi could take the pills.
Haruki plopped down in a nearby rolling chair, and spun around. Appearing almost like a child, or a mad man. “Takasugi San, I get the feeling you’ll be staying here awhile. I could have a nurse bring you something more comfortable to rest in…” he offered.
With his patient form in his right hand, Madara limped all the way from the 3rd Division to the 4th seeking medical assistance.
"That is what you get when you rush things." Madara thought to himself.
He proceeded to take a seat while waiting for someone to check on him. He could notice that his swelling at least doubled in size or it seemed so to his untrained eye.

At the sight of the needle, Takasugi tensed up in reflex. He had never really had an issue with them before, as far as he knew and could remember prior to dying anyway, but a hot flush of shame prickled across his skin as he forced himself to be still. It wouldn't do for a Captain of the Gotei, let alone new blood to appear so weak over something so simple. He closed his eyes, thankful that his goggles hadn't been taken away - it was easier to keep up appearances when you couldn't be looked directly in the eye. Perhaps, he thought, lip twitching as he felt the pinch of the needle piercing his skin to draw blood, if all went well he may return in future to see if there was anything that could be done about his blistering migraines.
He listened as Haruki mulled over his symptoms, thoughts voiced out loud, and knew he had made the right choice in coming.
"T-Thank you Haruki-san."
He swallowed the pills without looking at them too closely - if asked, he wouldn't be able to tell you the colour. The glass of his goggles left the world with a red overlay, and filtered light to regulate the amount getting through to his eyes. To him, everything looked red either way.
"Believe it or not, I'm fresh from the Academy. I was put forwards to be part of a project the 12th Division was working on to see if it was possible to artificially boost the raw abilities of academy students so that fallen Captains and Vice Captains could be quickly replaced in the event we go to war. I was the first, and the last successful candidate - they injected me with something, I wasn't privy to the details. The project has since been archived, I don't think you'll be able to get access to it admittedly..."
It was the most he had managed to say in one go since the early hours of the morning. It appeared as though the pills he had swallowed were starting to work.
Haruki, awaited for Takasugi’s response. His minded drifted in, and out. He anxiously chewed the pen cap. Being thanked, he grinned in a goofy way. “You’re welcome Takasugi San…”
Takasugi’a story intrigued him, his eyes lit up like a child. The sound of his pen taking notes echoed. “Ahhh, well that sounds interesting…” jotting down his story word for word. His attention broke for a moment sensing a new reiastu. “Hold that thought. “ mumbling, with one swift push back he rolled backwards, stopping at the door. “Hello, please join me on room 3…” calling for Madara to join him, and Takasugi. Soon after he rolled back to the bedside of his first patient. “Bring your form please” calling out from room 3.
“well, I don’t know what could’ve been in the Serum they used…. And knowing the 12th, I couldn’t simple hack into their system….” Spacing out again, he looked blankly at Takasugi. It appeared as if he was thinking of dissecting the poor man. “Well, when the blood work comes back… I might be able to treat this…” sighing, his expression turned stern. The first time he seemed serious. “Until I know the more…” reaching into his lab coat, grinning slightly sadistically. “Ahhh, here it is…” Pulling out a thermometer. “Let’s check your temperature…. As I was saying, once the blood work comes back. I can possibly make two treatments…. Once a month you come by, and I give you a a shot…. Or medication, that can help… until someone from the 12th spills the story…”
“Takasugi San…” the tone of his voice changed to match the stern expression. “Would you like something for pain, never answered the question…” Moving the thermometer close to his face. “Open up.” He said. “If you’re in pain, I can set an IV up which targets it all… or try to put a kaido around you… generally it targets one area… so I’d need to know where the pain was…”
An unknown figure appeared from one of the rooms and called Madara to enter room number 3. Madara got up by pushing with both of his hands against the chair and hopped over to the designated room. There he saw a man in a lab coat with pink hair and presumed that the person was one of the doctors or at least someone in services of the 4th division, and his Captain. Both of them appeared to be engaged in an examination.
"Hello, sir and Captain! I will just take a seat while you continue." Madara said as he was hopping towards the free seat. At this point, the pain was becoming more dominant so any weight-bearing was out of the question.
Takasugi listened to Haruki with rapt attention - he was tempted to ask if it would be possible for him to take an apprenticeship in the 4th Division as a trainee medic, for the man was clearly well learned and Takasugi felt well and truly out of his depth. He put the thought to one side as he sensed Madara's presence, his stomach starting to finally settle down. Even if he was consciously having to hold his reiatsu at bay, it was a massive improvement and he was deeply, deeply grateful. "I don't mind visiting and getting a shot every month, if that's alright with you Haruki-san? If I were to go out into the field for a while it would be handy to have some temporary medication I could use admittedly, but I would feel much better in your capable hands and I don't think the 12th will open their mouths anytime soon."
As he was talking, he watched as Madara entered the room out of the corner of his eye and lifted a hand in greeting. "Don't mind me, it's not contagious thankfully!"
He paused, pondering Haruki's question. Painkillers never seemed to work that well with his migraines but it was worth a shot. "Sure, if you have something that'll help, sure let's give it a go."
Keeping his focus on Takasugi, Haruki softly said. “One moment, please go sit on the other bed…. And I’ll read over your chart.”
”well, even if the 12th tries something…” grinning, but in a menacing way. “I’ll simple turn the tables, and dissect them…” rolling out of the room, but only for a brief moment.
“And I’m back…” rolling through the door, this time hitting a bump falling on his back sliding back to Takasugi’s bed side. “Pain medication, in iv form…” holding up the back, he was soon back to his feet. Setting the IV and the drip.”See that button next to you?” Pointing at the bed. “This isn’t too strong, since I’m unsure of the type of pain… but this will work for any headache, and minor injuries…. Push that button every 3 hours… I’ll need you to stay, the blood work should take a day…” glancing down at Madara’s chart. “Then an additional day to make the medication in pill, and needle form…. “ his attention now switched to the chart, Haruki shook his head sighing. “Takasugi San… If you say now, I can make the medication and flavor you’d like, that way it’s easier to take. “
”Ahh, so you’re Madara San, well I’m captain of the 4th…..” shifting his eyes up from the chart. “Haruki Akiyama…”. Stepping over to the second bed. “This way..” squinting his eyes, checking to see if this member was giant like Takasugi. Though being taller then Haruki wasn’t much of an accomplishment. “Giants…” he mumbled, anyone was giant to him and his 5”4 height.
Takasugi sighed - two days away from his Division was a big ask, but there was little by way of choice and Haruki's instructions were simple enough. He simply couldn't function without treatment - whatever paperwork piled up in his absence he would deal with later. "Alright, two days it is."
He paused cocking his head. "Flavor? Huh... I thought it came part and parcel with medication that it was all supposed to taste vile. In that case... banana?"
Just as Madara was about to take a seat in a chair, the doctor, Captain of the 4th Haruki Akiyama, instructed him to take a seat on the bed next to his captain. As Madara was taking a seat, the Takasugi jokingly commented that it was not contagious. Madara raised his right eyebrow at the comment.
"Do I even wanna know?" he replied back to Takasugi.
"Yes, sir. Kisaragi Madara, a new transfer to the 3rd currently unseated. A pleasure to meet you." he semi-bowed towards Haruki and was about to extend his hand for a handshake but he thought he heard the word Giants coming from the Haruki but he ignored it.
He leaned in a bit and whispered "Captain Haruki, are you sure Takasugi isn't carrying anything contagious?"
