With his newly obtained Haori, Takasugi entered his Headquarters for the first time - the building assigned to his Division spread out before him in a sprawling configuration of unused rooms waiting to be explored. It was quiet and sparkling new, with not a speck of dust to be seen or a scuff mark in sight. Empty. Daunting.
He inhaled the fresh air and rolled his shoulders in their sockets, noting the air flow in the entrance-way - there was a window open somewhere, perhaps the janitors had deliberately left it? He could hear the quiet, far-off tinkle of a wind chime. He likely wouldn't be able to hear it anymore once his members took up residence here.
With the sun high in the sky, it was a rare day indeed that Takasugi Masao could stand to be out in the bright light for very long but there was work to be done. He ambled forwards slowly, the clack clack clack of his sandals against the polished hardwood floor announcing his presence loudly throughout the building. If there were anybody here, they would hear him coming a mile away.
It was a beautiful sunny day. Madara got assigned to the 3rd Division and he was on his way to the HQ.
He entered the main building complex. The style reminded him of his past life and his family manor.
"Such a beautiful start of the day. Let's hope that everything will go smoothly." he muttered as he heard a faint sound of someone walking in the distance. For a moment he thought of shouting to see if the person would hear him but he managed to control him as that might leave the wrong impression on whoever was in the HQ. It was his first day after all.
Madara proceeded to walk slowly towards the sound hoping that he would meet someone that could give him directions.
OOC: I forgot if Shinigamis can recall their past lives, I will rewrite it if they cannot.
Takasugi paused at the sound of approaching footsteps - they mirrored his own in pace, and he idly wondered if they were as anxious about this place as he was. It didn't take long for the owner to reveal themselves.
"Are you one of mine, I wonder?" Takasugi said by way of greeting, bowing as Madara approached. He had yet to meet any of his division formally and wouldn't know them by sight alone. "My name is Takasugi Masao, I've just been assigned Captaincy over the 3rd Division. Would you happen to know the way to my office?"
OOC: Most can't remember but I think I recall that the especially gifted in canon can remember their previous lives. It's not far-fetched to say Madara can remember 🙂
It wasn't long before Madara caught up with the other person he was hearing. The person who had black hair was taller than Madara and asked him if he was one of his before bowing.
Madara stopped instantly and bowed in return and greeted the unknown individual. "Pleasure to meet you, Captain. My name is Kisaragi Madara. So yes, I am one of your subordinates."
Madara raised his upper body after finishing his greeting and proceed to approach Takasugi while saying "I wish I can be of assistance but I am as lost as you. Fresh from Academy sir, sort of. I was supposed to be assigned a year ago but I requested to postpone it. Shouldn't there be a sign on some of these rooms? I am pretty sure that you can designate any of them as your office."
OOC: Somehow, I totally missed that you had replied - I didn't mean for it to take so long!
"Hmm, true that. These buildings usually have a main room that serves as an office of sorts though." Takasugi replied, scratching the back of his neck. "We can explore together and see what we come up with."
Although they hadn't ventured much further than the entrance hall, the size of the place felt a little overwhelming. If the Division was successful, it would still seem like way too much space for the amount of people it was designed for. He imagined the emptiness filled with the everyday bustle of Division activity and smiled - perhaps his energies would be better focused on finding the dorm rooms first?
"I wonder how many rooms this place actually has, and if there's a map anywhere..."
"I would say that most of the complexes like these are military in nature, your office should be centralized. So if we figure that logic, it should be fairly easy to find it or we should stumble upon it sooner or later." Madara replied back to Takasugi. He raised his hand in an attempt to try and hide his yawn.
"Shall we just try going into all of the rooms?" he asked as he look ahead.
It had been quite sometime since Haruki had been outside of his division since becoming the captain. After a brief walk, he found himself at the thirds headquarters. “Well… I guess I should drop by…” fighting off a yawn, before stepping inside the building. In his right hand he carried a bag with two boxes. “Hello…” he called out. “Members of the third…” glancing around, seeing no one he ventured in a little further while saying. “Captain of the 4th here to visit, I’m here to visit Takasugi… captain of the third…”
"I think that would be a good idea." Takasugi replied, nodding thoughtfully. There was a quiet sense of abandonment about the place, and a strong scent of fresh paint, and he found himself wondering what this building used to be before the 3rd Division took it over as their Headquarters. A noise from somewhere behind him startled him from his reverie, hand frozen upon a sliding door as he was about to check the room in front of him.
To his relief, he recognised the voice. For some reason, this place with it's sprawling hallways made him uneasy.
"Over here, Haruki-san! This way!", he called out. With no furniture, his voice seemed unnaturally loud as it echoed down the hallway behind him. "Was your HQ as empty as ours?"
With a sigh Haruki followed Takasugi’s voice. “I’ve brought some rice balls, and cookies…” Holding up a bag, which oddly had a skull and crossbones over it. To one the items would appear dangerous, but I reality it was his way to scare others. “I haven’t been to the sleeping quarters, I’ve only been in the infirmary the past few days “ handing the bag which contained the box of treats.
”How is stuff around the third “ he asked with a smile. “
“Ahh Madara, how are you?” Shifting his eyes over to him.
Takasugi spluttered at the sight of the ominous bag, the juddering motion of his step half interrupted by panic hardly befitting a Captain. "Please tell me that's not more medicine Haruki-san, my poor heart couldn't take much more prodding and poking!"
He allowed himself a momentary breath, well aware he had made himself look like a fool. Ah well. Haruki was the one to complete his physical examinations and had seen everything from his tattoo to his bare butt - stumbling was hardly the worst thing to subject him to.
"Welcome! We're doing alright I think, not fully up and running yet but there's time for that yet ey?"
"Oh, hi there Captain Haruki. I am doing good, a bit nervous but good. How about yourself?" Madara replied to a new visitor. It was Captain of the 4th Division.
Madara's eyes were all over the place trying to memorize how each inch of this facility looked as it is going to be his new home. He proceeded to listen to the conversation between two captains.
For once in his life his ability to space out didn’t hinder him. To his amazement, and surprise he watched Takasugi freak out over his surprise boxes. He couldn’t help but chuckle as the man in front of him question wether or not if he had brought more medicine. “No…. No…” offering the box. “It’s a box of rice balls, and the other is donuts..”
His eyes briefly moved to Madara. “I’m good, think I might’ve traumatized your captain.” He teased. “Well, how about we find a nice area to sit and enjoy the snacks I brought?” He suggested with a smile.
Madara's eyes widened with the mention of snacks. He had a thing for indulging himself in good food. He approached Captain Haruki a bit closer hoping that he would be able to see the mentioned snacks.
"Snacks?" Madara asked with enormous excitement.
A soft click would be heard by those near the door as Yuki made her entrance. After years of wandering, she was now back in Sereitei and assigned to the Sanbantai, the Third Division. However, those who were very observant would notice the slight trickle of sweat running down the side of her temple despite her calm demeanor. To those who didn't know her, that would indicate Yuki was slightly nervous, but inside, she was essentially shaking with anxiety. She had never been a social person, especially not after what had happened ten years prior that made her essentially pack up and leave without notice. She crossed the room quietly, hoping to find a quiet corner where she could read, but knew she would have to talk to someone sooner or later.
