Preface

Your character's Releases work in much the same way as their Powers & Abilities. They are built up from Chits, which you get through both earning promotions and earning them directly through Roleplay. Like with Powers & Abilities, but more clearly expressed here, you don't "earn points" to "distribute". Instead, you earn the ability or ability upgrade (or indeed the release itself) through Roleplaying. You can earn a single ability worth multiple Chits in one roleplay, or rather a string of roleplays leading up to earning it.

Careful planners could make a fully mastered release with just a few roleplays, by going for a limited number of abilities and roleplaying to get those up to a mastered level. This would quickly fill up their Earnable Release Chits for that Character. Or, you could do the opposite and put yourself on a longer road to bring that Character's to full power.

1. Zanpakutō

Your character's Zanpakutō is a large source of unique, personal abilities to them. Every Arrancar gets 1 Zanpakutō which must be unique to them.

1.1 Sealed Zanpakutō

Every Arrancar character receives a unique Zanpakutō. You are free to customise the look of your character's Zanpakutō how you see fit, with the following Factional restrictions;

  • Must be a single Melee Weapon of any origin except European or Anatolian.
  • Its length is 240 centimetres or 94½ inches or less.

1.2 Tier Release Chits

You gain access to the Release Chits upon acquiring your Character's Shikai.

2. Resurrección

Arrancar seal the nuclei of their Hollow Powers in a Zanpakutō, allowing them to become partly human again. Releasing their Resurrección means restoring some of those Hollow Powers back to the Arrancar's physical body. To activate Resurrección, the Arrancar recites a unique Kaigo (解号, Release Call) in Japanese, followed by their Resurrección name in Spanish. This can be as simple as a command or as elaborate as a poem, always hinting at the Arrancar's Hollow Powers or characteristics. The Zanpakutō will then physically disappear while the Arrancar undergoes a bodily transformation.

2.1 Attaining Resurrección

Your Character attains their Resurrección simultaneously with their demasking as a Hollow. This must happen in the same, single Manifestation RP which you must pass with a C grade or higher. The particulars are largely left up to you and/or your Unit as long as the Manifestation RP is about your character becoming an Arrancar.

2.2 Augmentation Types

A Resurrección restores Hollow Powers to the Arrancar's body, as such Resurrección is limited to physical augmentations and passive abilities awaiting activation. The only constant abilities an Arrancar may possess are to their bodies. Raw physical Augmentations are:

2 4
Strength Augmentation I  Strength Augmentation II

2 4
Speed Augmentation I  Speed Augmentation II

2 4
Cero Augmentation I  Cero Augmentation II

2 4
 Hierro I  Hierro II

Instead of a Strength Augmentation, you may opt for Regeneration instead (Resuscitation comes standard with Resurrección and does not need to be added). You need to have picked Limb-Regeneration for your Arrancar's Powers & Abilities:

8
 High-Speed Regeneration

2.3 Adding and Upgrading Abilities

Your Resurrección Abilities revolve around a central theme for your character. You can think up this central theme and the abilities with a very large degree of freedom. As long as the abilities can be logically classed as falling under the umbrella of your theme and they abide by the Godmode rules, you are generally fine. Abilities come in 4 stages: Innate, Learnt, Controlled and Mastered. Each upgraded level to an existing Ability must be submitted for approval.

3. Dual Reiatsu

Once the Arrancar has become powerful enough, their mixed Reiatsu of both Hollow and Shinigami starts having physical, beneficial effects. Tier A Characters and above and who have both 5 Earned Chits and 4 Earned Release Chits, automatically gain access to Dual Reiatsu (find the Chit in Arrancar Chit Glossary). This raises their Reiatsu to an equivalent of a Shinigami using Shikai and most Masked Vizards as well as Quincy possessing Reishi Dominance. It also unlocks the possibility for Sealed Abilities. This also elevates their Resurrección's power to a higher level equivalent to Bankai and Vollständig.

3.1 Sealed State Abilities

You can add up to 2 Sealed State Abilities to your Arrancar following the same rules Resurrección Abilities. The only caveat is that their strength and potency are at a Sealed State level, not a Release level.
