Grading & Approval Guidelines
Grading and Approval are core functionalities of the Roleplay. Players attain new abilities for their characters through doing Roleplays and receiving grades on them. All custom Abilities, including manifestations like Shikai, Bankai, Epithet, and so on, must also be approved by someone with the authority to do so. Unit Leaders are in essence free to grade and review as they please and it is part of their Unit culture to set expectations when it comes to roleplaying.
Game Masters are held to a higher standard of both Roleplay quality and knowledge but also integrity when it comes to grading and reviewing. GMs are handpicked for this purpose and are expected to handle situations where a conflict of interest may arise unbiased and fair to all parties.
Who can Grade?
- Unit Leaders can grade the roleplay of any Character belonging to their Unit, regardless of where that roleplay took place.
- Game Masters can grade the roleplay of any Character including those of other Game Masters.
Who can Approve?
- Unit Leaders can review the abilities of any Character belonging to their Unit.
- Game Masters can review the abilities of any Character including those of other Game Masters
When Should You Not Grade?
- If your character has a vested interest in the RP (for instance, they stand to gain a chit).
- If the person whose roleplay you are grading will also be grading your performance in the same roleplay.
- If the person whose roleplay you are grading is likely to return the favour (tit-for-tat grading/cronyism)
- If the grading can be performed by a lower level (Unit Leader > Game Master > Admin) and you weren't asked specifically.
Outside the straightforward examples of grading and reviewing, here are a few less common cases,
Allowed: Unit Leader A roleplays with Game Master B and only Unit Leader A stands to gain a chit, Game Master B grades Unit Leader A.
Best avoided: Unit Leader A roleplays with Game Master B and both stand to gain a chit, Game Master B grades Unit Leader A.

Second Opinions and Re-reviews
If you disagree with a grade or review from a Unit Leader, you must first ask this Unit Leader to reconsider. The Unit Leader should explain their reasoning for keeping the grade or review or adjust them accordingly. If you still feel you were really cut short, you can apply with a Game Master for a second opinion. Their grade or review is then final, even if it is worse than what you initially got.
Game Masters can defer to another Game Master if they themselves are subject to the conflict. You do not get to choose which Game Master does the review or grading.
