Miyu Takeda

Complexion: Typical Japanese complexion. A small, vertical scar is traced over the center of her right eye. 

Physique: Slim, with taut and toned muscle, indicative of a person who engages in regular combat and strenuous training exercise.

Attire: Miyu wears the standard uniform of a Fourth Division Shinigami. Her Zanpakuto is tucked into her sash at her left hip. Her most distinctive piece of clothing is a plain black eyepatch over her missing right eye.  

Reiatsu: Pink

Personality: Serious and unyielding, Miyu is an analytical personality who primarily concerned with her duty to the Seireitei. She is a pragmatic person and believes in reason and analysis as the only worthy methods of diagnosing problems and prescribing solutions. It is uncommon for Miyu to trust in "intuition," believing it to be the rationale of confirmation bias from a weak mind. Despite this, she is more emotional than she cares to admit. While not necessarily, bloodthirsty, she is very enthusiastic at the prospect of proving herslf on the battlefield. However, her emotional nature doesn't prevent her from caring for the inured, and in fact is a powerful motivator. She remains cunning and outwardly calm in even the most stressful scenarios, utterly transfixed on her goals.

However, she is sometimes slow to accept new advice, criticism, and points of view, even if they present valid logic; and especially if they come from people with whom she has no relationship with or a poor opinion of.

Biography: Miyu is a descendant of a minor noble house and was born as the third and youngest daughter in a group of several children. As a result, she was unlikely to ever be given an important leadership position in the family. As is common in the noble houses of Seireitei, she joined the Gotei and was initially appointed to the Third Squad. She proved to be adept with Kido and the rest of the Shinigami arts, though it was her Zanjutsu that garnered her the name "Crimson Flash." However, in a mission against a Hollow threatening the Human World, she suffered an infection from a pathogen excreted by the Hollow. It affected her right eye and she was forced put it out herself before the infection spread. Due to the nature of the wound, she was returned as soon as possible to Seireitei. 

Healers were unable to restore the eye; but, the experience showed Miyu where the next step of her journey lay. Taking a great interest in Kaido and the healing arts, she took advantage of the sympathy afforded to her perceived disability and transferred to the Fourth Division. Some believed that this was a soft form of exile from Shinigami life; most Fourth Division Shinigami are not regarded well for their combat prowess. However, she continued to train to overcome her visual limitations and continued to be an excellent warrior as she pursued the path of the healer. As a result, she earned another name: the One-Eyed Demon.

Zanpakuto

Name: Shinshoha (神漿刃, Ambrosia Edge)

Appearance: Shinshoha takes the form of a standard katana with a red hilt and teardrop-shaped tsuba. Its sheath is white.

Type: Electricity

Shikai

Shikai Command: Sosoge (注げ, Pour)

Shikai Appearance: Shinshoha becomes a shichishito (七支刀, "Seven-Branched Sword") in Shikai while retaining the same hilt. Miyu's Shihakusho turns blood red in color.

Primary Ability: Bio-electrical manipulation

• Description: The blade gains the power to produce electrical impulses that can impact the electric fields and signals inside of organisms.
• Mechanics: As long as the blade is touching an organism on a surface that can have an electrical current passed through it, the blade's ability can be used. The applications are myriad and can be used to support allies or to destroy foes. The current can speed or delay wound healing, sharpen or dull reflexes, affect the nervous system, and even amplify or disable the strength of muscles, including the heart. Some effects occur instantaneously; such as disrupting the nerves in a limb; while others, like wound healing, require continued contact until the activity has finished. She cannot regenerate limbs unless the severed body part is recovered for re-attachment or if the victim possesses regeneration abilities. Miyu can apply these effects to herself as well, though with the same limitations.
