Arrancar [Appearance]
Height; 6'1" (~185 cm)
Weight; 189 lbs (85.7 kg)
Eye Color; Goldenrod and Blue
Description; Rey is muscular but also very limber, with a lithe musculature that ripples as he moves. His general form is broad, wide shouldered and decently tall. His uniform varies at times but only mildly from typical Arrancar uniform. His general combat outfit is a set of thick white cloth pants tucked into heavy black boots that are tightly laced, the pants from a small, bell-shaped bulge over the boots in a more classical military style. In combat he rarely wears a shirt, favoring the lack of clothing as it would simply serve as something to be gripped by his enemy.
Mask Remnant; His mask remnant is a number of tiny scales which trail up his cheeks and his neck.
Hollow Hole; His hollow hole is usually hidden by his clothing, but it resides just under his breastbone.
[Personality]
Rey exudes the complications of a distorted persona. He's usually casually conflicted in nature, finding it hard to cooperate with others at times, yet exuding the characteristics of a natural leader. His intelligence is a sharp point that provides him with both an edge on the battlefield and in the laboratory. He can quickly deduce his situation, cracking open a strategy and laying out a wonderful battle plan which can quickly turn the tables upon his enemies. He does enjoy his leisure and can be found enjoying foods he’s made or sketching in a notebook. Some might notice his wildly flirtatious tendencies as well as his natural affinity for careful manners. At times he can become increasingly stern, borderline violent. He has a long fuse, but his temper explodes like a metric ton of plastic explosives.

[Biography]
[Pre-Death]
Born Albrecht Einzbern von Hollerhorn, Rey Lagarto was the son of a prominent lord and former soldier of a small Eastern European country. His youth was filled with rigorous schooling in many topics ranging from scientific methods of the era to the art of warfare. He was talented with a blade as well as a musket. He was a renowned horseback rider, racing against many and making a name in the surrounding countries. Small wars had plagued his home and the surrounding countries until he was to be betrothed to Franziska Mariella Cassiopeia, Crown Princess of the house of Schwarzburg, staving off more combat in the area. Her home was threatened by many of the surrounding countries unless her father offered his eldest daughter for marriage. Albrecht was chosen because of his military affiliation and his personal merit, although his manners were rather rough in his youth.
He was engaged to the Crown Princess when they were merely 13, although were not to be married for quite some time, perhaps as a way to further keep the peace. He met her at a banquet held in the Schwarzburg Castle, where he immediately attempted to win her over with his charm. He was athletic and had sharp blues eyes and fine, nearly golden, hair. The family and governesses played it off as boyish excitement when he greeted her with a rather crass kiss. But it was merely his lack of manners, many of which would be battered into him further by the Princesses' governesses in the coming years. Despite this, he took the task of wedding her in stride and although it was an arranged marriage, he tried his best to win her affections and equally give her his affection. Many times, he tried to steal the Princess from the heel of her mother in the early days of their relationship. Although soon after, her mother had passed. The funeral was solemn, and it changed her father Hidalgo to the core. He became bitter, resentful, and violent. Although much of this was hidden from view of Albrecht until after the event that led to his own demise.
Two years after their engagement, Hidalgo's violent and heinous treatment of his children led the Princess to take her own life, drowning in a lake upon the edge of the castle grounds. It was a place where Albrecht would find her often, crying or staring off into the distance. Her father merely widened the gap between them, and eventually Albrecht blamed him for her suicide. His bride was murdered by the malice of her father.
With the death of Franziska came a political torrent which eventually erupted into all-out war over the territory of her father, many surrounding countries formed an alliance and stormed Schwarzburg Castle, burning anything in their way. Albrecht led a brigade of troops from his own keep in an attempt to claim the castle before the other armies destroyed it. Although he had a different motive in mind. He intended to claim the life of Franziska's father in a duel. But his brigade arrived too late, the surrounding plots were burning, the standing soldiers slain, and Franziska's brother captured, set to hang. The siege had not broken to Hidalgo, her father. Albrecht rode violently into the castle and the estate held within, scouring the wreckage for Hidalgo.
Finally, he had found the man he blamed for forsaking his bride, bloodied, and fuming before the destruction of his home. Albrecht dismounted his stallion and raised a blade to the man calling out.
"I challenge you."
Hidalgo grinned wickedly, holding up his own blade aiming it at Albrecht. He charged the youth, swinging viciously for his knee, only to be parried swiftly by Albrecht's steel. They traded blows, parrying and dancing in a clash of steel while the fire raged around them. The sounds of battle poured over the field with each stinging ring of their blades. Hidalgo was aggressive, forcing Albrecht on the defense, rarely giving the boy a chance to respond with his own strikes. Each clash left Albrecht reeling further backward against the force until he was able to land an underhanded swing upon Hidalgo's leg. Albrecht's blade dug in and tore through the man's thigh viciously on the drawback. Hidalgo, in a last-ditch effort, drew a pistol and fired. On this day, luck did not smile upon Albrecht, Hidalgo's shot was true, the ball spearing into his chest with a bright splatter cast against the equally crimson glow of the flames. Albrecht's breath escaped him, blood filling his mouth, gurgling, gagging. He stared at the monster that had overthrew him.
"You are not the man...I respected..." He choked on the blood welling up within his lungs before he collapsed, his soul ripped from his body as Hidalgo bled out upon the ground.
Spiraling into death, Albrecht's anger and passion chewed away the chain anchored to him at the base of his left breastbone, over his heart. Regret flooded his mind as he was slowly torn apart and hollowed nearly instantly. The sheer devastation of his thoughts leaving his mind crippled reverted to a base animalistic state, the state of a scavenger hollow. The hunger filled him as he shredded the souls of the men and women slain at the battle, consuming them whole...
[Post-Death, Pre-Demasking]
Growing vastly in power from the well of souls he consumed even shortly after his death and avoiding destruction by either Quincy or Shinigami kind, Rey became that of a Gillian following the evolutionary stages of a menos. Decades, perhaps even centuries passed as he fought the dull ache in his hollowed soul, consuming more and more hollows, distinguishing himself from the rest of the bleak entities within the Menos Forest. Eventually, he underwent the transformation into that of an Adjuchas, retaining thought, and speech along with a unique form. His form as an adjuchas was rather humanoid, although it commanded a particularly powerful cero for a menos.
During his years as an Adjuchas, he was firmly planted within his own hovel within the forest, protected by the crystalline structure of quartz trees. He even began making traipses into the human realm, searching for particularly powerful souls to take. He learned of modern society and built a more human-like intellect and understanding of the material world. He appreciated innovation and created his own little gadgets for survival within the forest, traps and the like.
With this ingenuity, he garnered the attention of the Arrancar legions. They'd bring him under their wing, leading him to become one of their own. With time, he was trained in the art of spiritual combat, learning new ways to control and use his ever-growing power until the point he was to be de-masked and his life as an Arrancar began.
[Sample Story]
The sickening cackle of dimensions being ripped wide echoed out among the dark crevices created by the towering quartz structures which could only be called "trees" as a garganta awoke in the darkness. From within the ink black void set against a jet-black backdrop stepped out a broad, well-muscled man clad in the familiar stark-white uniform of an Arrancar. His reiatsu flooded the area, scattering lesser beings almost immediately, and stirring up larger hollows as well. Perhaps they believed him to be a hunter, and on this day they would be correct. Although not for shinigami, but for his own sanity. Anger welled up within him from an encounter only moments ago with a haunting enemy and it was time to release that anger into the wilderness of Hueco Mundo.
Rey, stood there, looking in a small radius to pinpoint reiatsu signatures with his Pequisa. He detected clusters scattered sporadically among the weaving paths strewn about the forest. He'd run a hand across his forehead, tugging away the loose strands of silvery hair from in front of his golden eyes. The scales running up his cheeks rippled slightly, attuning his body to the new environment. His eyes adjust to the lack of light in mere moments. The powers he unlocked in his demasking were somewhat astounding. He exuded adaptability, his eyes adjusting faster and to be more precise in the darkness than many. His body adapting to take damage from different sources more efficiently or adapting to deal damage more efficiently. Rey embodied a creature known for its ability to change to its surroundings, the Chameleon. Although in Rey's case it was more than visual tricks. His entire body could switch composition given time. He could generate more muscle mass, or slim down for breakneck speeds.
Finally, he picked out a suitable cluster, it must have been one of many, but this one seemed to have more adjuchas-class menos tucked within. He trailed the reiatsu signature using the small wristlet computer set upon his left arm which placed a number of blips on a radar-like map. He was careful to watch his direction, weaving with the static crackle of sonido in between the quartz towers, only narrowly slipping past some of them shortly before impact. After a brief period of leisurely utilizing sonido to approach his target location, he would stop. There was more than menos here. He missed this in his initial assessment. There were other Arrancar here.
After briefly surveying the area more, he could spy the other Arrancar, perhaps of another legion spying upon the adjuchas, two which were fighting within a large outer ring of more adjuchas. It seemed there was a mass recruitment to happen soon. Sadly, the flow of information lacked the reach to land in front of him or his legion. Silently he set aside the thought, watching the two adjuchas rip into each other.
The first one was slim built and more humanoid in its structure. It had very few defining details to its body in general. It was almost perfectly black skinned, blending into the darkness of the forest. Rey was curious to see its ability and how it played out within this battle. Perhaps it wielded some level of camouflaging ability, or manipulation of light waves.
The other had small ears, winged arms, and a wide mouth much like a bat. Rey already had an idea of what this adjuchas could do, perhaps playing upon hypersonic sound waves. But all in all, it was a hunter for sure.
